Blowing and falling snow made for another bad day on Ontario’s roads Tuesday.

Waterloo Regional Police recorded 78 crashes within the region, 10 of which resulted in injuries.

Perth County OPP report 40 crashes between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, including one in which a tow truck was hit while pulling another vehicle out of a ditch along Highway 7/8 west of Shakespeare.

In another case, a snow plow was hit by an out-of-control pickup truck on Highway 8 between Sebringville and Mitchell, damaging both vehicles.

OPP in South Bruce say they responded to 45 collisions or stranded vehicles between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

Only one of the 45 incidents resulted in injuries.

In all jurisdictions, police say many of the collisions responded to were caused by drivers not adjusting to winter driving conditions.

As of noon Wednesday, a blowing snow advisory remained in effect for southern Bruce County and northern Huron County, with visibilities expected to suddenly be reduced to zero in localized areas.

Across southwestern Ontario, occasional snowy conditions are expected to persist into Thursday.
