For the second time this month, police in Brantford have caught a vehicle travelling at more than double the speed limit on West Street.
Around 4:45 a.m. Friday, police say, an officer’s radar device tracked a vehicle travelling at 109 km/h, despite the posted speed limit in the area being 50 km/h.
The vehicle was pulled over and its driver, said to be a 25-year-old Hamilton man, arrested.
His driver’s licence was suspended – although police say it was already suspended due to unpaid fines – and his vehicle impounded for one week.
The man also faces a charge of racing a motor vehicle.
Earlier this month, a 19-year-old Brantford man was charged with racing and dangerous driving after allegedly driving 123 km/h on West.
