Waterloo Regional Police say they’ve found and charged the driver of the SUV ditched in a Breslau-area pond on Thursday.

The vehicle was found partially submerged in the pond off Fountain Street, near Woolwich Street, around 6 a.m.

A search of the pond area failed to turn up the driver.

Later in the day, police say, they were able to identify and track down the driver, a 25-year-old Kitchener man.

He faces charges of careless driving, failure to remain at the scene of a collision and failure to report a collision.

Police say the man received minor injuries during the crash, for which he sought medical treatment on his own.
