The driver of a tractor-trailer died early Tuesday morning after crashing through a median on the 401.
OPP say a 56-year-old from Lockport, New York, was driving the tractor-trailer eastbound on the 401 near Charing Cross Road in Chatham-Kent when he drove through the median.
The truck’s load of paper products was spilled in the westbound lanes before the truck came to rest in a ditch on the north side of the highway.
The driver was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead. The cause of death was not immediately available, but a post-mortem will be conducted.
The 401 westbound was closed most of Tuesday morning as police investigated the crash and cleaned up the spilled paper products.
