The Kitchener Dutchmen picked up their first win of the pre-season on Thursday night beating the Elmira Sugar Kings 3-1 at Sportsworld. Jordan DeLaurier led the way offensively for Kitchener with 2 goals and 1 assist. Steve Jablonski also scored for Kitchener.

Between the pipes, Jackson McIntosh made his claim to be the number one goaltender for the Dutchies this year, making 23 saves in his first start of the exhibition season. McIntosh is one of four goalies in camp battling for the top job in the crease. The job became open when Marc Williams signed with the Georgetown Raiders over the summer. Williams was the most valuable player in the Midwestern Conference last year.

Tonight’s pre-season schedule includes the Stratford Cullitons hosting the London Nationals at the Allman Arena. The Waterloo Siskins also hit the ice taking on the Cambridge Winter Hawks at the Galt Arena Gardens.
