Day two of Big Music Fest is underway at McLennan Park in Kitchener. Thousands passed through the gates this afternoon to take in the sites, and more importantly, the sounds.

Bands including Bryan Adams, Styx and Collective Soul will hit the stage, and fans can hardly wait.

“(It’s) pretty cool and exciting. You don't get a chance like this unless you go into London or Toronto. Now it's in our town,” said Robin Garget from Kitchener.

“It's pretty cool. It makes us feel more important, like there is stuff going on. I know a lot of people say there isn't a lot going on in the region, (and) you have to go to Toronto for concerts, (so for) stuff to come here is encouraging,” added James Saliba from Waterloo.

Big names also bring in big bucks and that has local businesses, like Holy Guacamole, very excited.

“It's pretty exciting, it's great to see all the people walk around trying to draw them all in. We're just expecting to do a lot of business here,” said General Manager of Holy Guacamole, Melissa Allensen.

20,000 to 25,000 people are expected to come through the gates throughout the festival weekend, and that's the largest crowd the park has ever seen.

After standing in line for hours, the big moment also finally arrived for Nancy Romanick, who travelled from Windsor to come to Big Music Fest.

“This is fantastic. It's friendly, it's wonderful, I don't know, it's a dream come true,” she said.

Bryan Adams is expected to hit the stage at 9 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday is also a big day, with Aerosmith, Slash and Kim Mitchell performing.
