A drunk driver allegedly caused a ruckus in a Cambridge parking lot, then aimed his vehicle at four police officers.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the man allegedly drove his pickup truck into the parking lot behind Angels Diner on Hespeler Road at a high speed, then squealed his tires and swerved over the lot.

Police officers happened to be in the area at the time, and the man allegedly starting driving toward them before being ordered to stop.

The driver, a 45-year-old Cambridge man,faces charges of dangerous driving and impaired driving.

The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police say it’s important to remember that blood-alcohol levels can remain over the legal limit even the morning after a night of drinking.
