CTV Kitchener has been recognized by the Canadian arm of the Radio Television Digital News Association with three awards.

The awards include the Bert Cannings Award for best TV newscast, for our coverage of the verdict in the murder trial of Dellen Millard and Mark Smich.

Abigail Bimman was recognized with the Dave Rogers Award for best short TV feature, for her story on a group of women at a Kitchener long-term care home who posed for a creative fundraising calendar. You can watch the story by using the video player above or clicking here.

The third award, for sports feature reporting, went to Randy Steinman, Kevin Doerr and Steve Woodford for the profile they put together of a team of visually impaired curlers from the K-W Granite Club who won a national championship. All three awards were for a small or medium-market television station in the RTDNA’s Central Region.
