A motorcycle driver was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital Monday after his vehicle collided with a car northwest of Guelph.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Wellington Road 30 and Guelph Township Road 3 shortly after 8 a.m.

Both roads were closed for much of the day as police investigated the crash.

Details on the cause of the crash were not available, but Wellington County OPP said the man driving the motorcycle was initially taken to a local hospital before being sent to Hamilton with life-threatening injuries.

The man driving the car was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police say they want to hear from anyone with information regarding the crash.
