The City of Kitchener held a public meeting to discuss traffic calming measures in the neighbourhood of Doon South.

Residents say speeding is often a concern in an area filled with families and children.

The city presented various traffic calming options for Doon South Drive between Homer Watson Boulevard and Robert Ferrie Drive.

The preferred option includes narrowing the road at several intersections and installing pedestrian crossings. Other options could include parking bays, cycling lanes or adding speed bumps.

Council hopes to implement the changes by 2017.
