RALEIGH, Ont. - A man from the Chatham area has been charged in the death of his neighbour's dog.

Police say they were called earlier this week by a man who said a dog on his property made him fear for the safety of other animals in the yard.

They allege the homeowner then told them he had taken actions that led to the dog's death.

Police say they have seized a rifle in the investigation.

A 62-year-old man from Raleigh Township is now facing one charge of endangering or injuring an animal.
