A 20-year-old man is facing a number of charges following a crash between a minivan and horse-drawn buggy which killed a five-year-old girl.

The crash occurred Sunday, on Highway 10 between Flesherton and Dundalk in Grey Highlands.

There were nine people in the buggy at the time.

One of them, a five-year-old girl, was pronounced dead in hospital. A 26-year-old woman was airlifted to a Toronto hospital, where she remained in critical condition as of Monday.

The other seven people in the buggy were not injured.

Grey County OPP said Monday that charges had been laid against a 20-year-old Belleville resident in connection with the crash.
