Parents picking their children up from a Kitchener school were treated to an unusual sight Thursday afternoon.

Shortly before 3 p.m., a car burst through a retaining wall separating a parking lot for an apartment building from the lower-level parking lot for Courtland Public School.

The car ended up at a 45-degree angle to the ground, with its front-end resting against two cars parked down below in the school parking lot.

Its back wheels remained perched on the upper level, while the vehicle was tethered to a fire truck to provide immediate stabilization.

The driver of the car was not seriously hurt.
