Canadian cattle count sees first year-over-year increase since 2013

Statistics Canada reports there was a slight increase in the number of cattle on Canadian farms on Jan. 1.

The 12 million head was up 0.3 per cent from Jan. 1 of 2015.

That's the first year-over-year increase since January of 2013.

However, it was still almost 20 per cent lower than the peak of January 2005.
