A work-to-rule campaign by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers has been put on hold for 24-hours in hopes the union can come to an agreement with Canada Post.
The union served 72 hour strike notice Thursday night, accusing the Crown corporation of forcing a labour disruption by refusing to bargain in good faith.
However, a federal mediator requested that talks continue for another 24 hours -- which both sides agreed to.
Employment, Workforce Development and Labour Minister MaryAnn Mihychuk welcomed the development, calling it an "encouraging sign of ongoing progress."
