A 22-year-old man faces charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation following an incident at a summer camp in Turkey Point.

Norfolk County OPP say the incident occurred early Thursday morning, and was reported to police later in the day.

“Police received a call about a sexual assault that is alleged to have occurred at Ryerson Camp,” Const. Ed Sanchuk told CTV News.

“Right now, it’s one incident that we’re investigating.”

Aaron Howe, an Ancaster resident, has been released from custody and will appear in court Sept. 30.

Howe is a counsellor at the Ryerson Camp.

A spokeperson for the organization says camp directors notified both police and the regional Children's Aid office of the allegations.

"Since alerting the proper authorities, the camp has co-operated fully with the investigation, and continues to do so," Danny Roth wrote in an email.

Police say they want parents of children who have attended the camp to ask them about any inappropriate activity.
