A Cambridge man had to be airlifted to a Hamilton hospital after an overnight motorcycle collision in Guelph.

Guelph police say a 51-year-old man was riding his motorcycle south on Elmira Road shortly after midnight Saturday when a northbound car turned left onto Tovell Drive, into the motorcycle’s path.

Police say the rider has serious leg injuries. He was taken to Guelph General Hospital, and then airlifted to Hamilton.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old Guelph man was treated on scene for shock.

Damaged to the vehicles is estimated at over $30,000.

There is no word on charges.
