Who says you need facial hair to raise money for a good cause?

Harrison Drayson has become a certified member of Movember’s “Platinum Club” at the tender age of two.

That makes the Brantford toddler the youngest “Mo Bro” on record.

“When you get fresh blood into the campaign, it just makes it even more exciting,” says Peter Bombaci, the national director of Movember Canada.

Harrison’s Mo-journey started shortly before his second birthday.

Rather than throw a traditional cake-and-presents party, his parents planned a moustache-themed event.

Guests were asked to donate to the Movember campaign, which raises money for cancer research and other men’s health initiatives.

“I thought it was just a silly little idea,” says Harrison’s mom, Stephanie. “And I've just been so proud of him just throughout the whole thing. It's pretty amazing,”

Their original plan was to raise $1,000 dollars, but Harrison has already surpassed that goal.

“We still have the biggest fundraising week of our campaign upcoming, so I don't think he's done yet, and whatever it ends up at we're going to be thrilled for Harrison and what he's been able to do,” says Bombaci.

To honour the little fundraiser, Movember staff invited Harrison to the organization’s Canadian headquarters for his birthday.

And although his mom and dad say the toddler doesn’t quite understand what Movember is all about, they’re overwhelmed with everything that’s happened.

“Just pride, just so proud of him,” says Stephani. “So amazed with him. So amazed that such a young person can make such a big difference already.”
