Brantford Police believe the same man and woman are responsible for three break-ins that took place within less than an hour of each other.

The first break-in occurred around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, at a home on Murray Street.

According to police, a homeowner returned home to find a woman standing at his side door – and yelling at somebody in the backyard as the homeowner approached the building.

A brief conversation ensued, during which the man and woman claimed they were looking for their lost dog.

After they left the premises, the homeowner noticed a new hole in a window screen at the back of his property.

Shortly before 1 p.m., a homeowner on nearby Brock Street her a noise while inside her home.

Investigating the sound, she found a man inside the building.

The man left as soon as he was spotted, police say.

A few minutes later, police allege, a man and woman were seeing trying to break into sheds and a garage on Rawdon Street.

Police say at least one garage was successfully broken into, but it’s not clear if anything was stolen.

The male suspect is described as white, skinny and approximately six feet tall, and was seen wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.

The female suspect is described as heavier set and 5’10” tall. She was seen wearing a grey sweater and jeans, with brown hair pulled back in a ponytail.
