A 19-year-old Brantford man faces multiple charges after allegedly going on a spree of car thefts.

On July 30, 2014 a Chevy Malibu was stolen from an address on Bonheur Court. The vehicle was abandoned on Applewood Drive.

Police say the accused then attempted to steal a Chevy Impala on Centennial Drive but he was unsuccessful. Police say he instead stole a Pontiac Grand Am from the same area.

Later he allegedly took a different Chevy Impala from Sydenham Street.

At around 4 a.m. July 31, a routine patrol car observed the accused driving on Erie Avenue.

The accused fled the area and then abandoned the stolen car near Park Avenue and Victoria Street.

He ran to an address on Brock Street where he was arrested.

Benjamin Wayne Curley has been charged with multiple counts including three counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of theft over $5,000, eight counts of breach of probation and six counts of driving while under suspension.

Curley was held in custody for a bail hearing.
