Smoke rose high into the air north of Waterloo on Wednesday when a planned bonfire spread to three storage trailers.
Firefighters from Conestogo, Elmira, Floradale and St. Jacobs were all called to the fire scene – on Northfield Road East near Sugar Forest Place, east of Elmira – just before 11 a.m.
According to officials with Woolwich Fire, the bonfire had been set very close to one of the trailers.
No injuries were reported.
The bonfire was set without a permit, firefighters said.
