The Kitchener Fire Department continues to investigate a house fire on Fischer-Hallman Road.
Firefighters were called to the home, located near Greenbrook Drive, around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday.
They were able to extinguish the basement fire quickly, however the home received significant damage from heat and smoke.
The family of six living inside the building were all asleep when the fire began, but were all able to get outside without injury.
Damage is estimated at $25,000.
