An investigation is underway into a fire that broke out in the basement of a home in east Waterloo.
Firefighters were called to the home on Strawberry Crescent – near University Avenue and Bridge Street – around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Although they were able to put the fire out quickly, they say the home suffered extensive smoke damage.
Everybody inside the home at the time was able to get out safely.
