Waterloo Regional Police say they’ve made one arrest in connection with a dramatic theft at a Waterloo movie theatre.

Last month, a white van reversed through the front doors of the Galaxy Cinema outside Conestoga Mall.

After that, three people loaded an ATM into the vehicle – which police said at the time was likely stolen – and drove away.

Garry Astles, a 42-year-old Toronto resident, was arrested last week in connection with the incident.

He faces charges of breaking and entering, vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

Police say they continue to investigate.
