After being pulled over by police, a Guelph man allegedly backed the vehicle he was driving into their cruiser.

Guelph Police say they were called to a location on Marksam Road late Friday night, after learning of a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was found about half an hour after the call, on Paisley Road.

Police stopped the vehicle, at which point the driver allegedly reversed and struck the cruiser.

He then allegedly tried to make a getaway on foot, and was arrested after a brief chase.

Joshua Biffis, 32, faces charges including impaired driving, resisting arrest and driving while suspended.

Damage to the two vehicles involved in the crash is estimated at $2,500.
