A Woodstock man is facing charges after allegedly lying to border guards about the airplane he had just flown into the country.

According to the Canada Border Services Agency, the propeller plane landed at Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport on Oct. 12.

During border guards’ inspection, the pilot allegedly claimed he had bought the plane in Canada – even though CBSA says documentation was found showing that he had just purchased it in the United States for US$110,000.

Border guards then seized the plane, and charged the pilot with various offences under the Customs Act.
