The City of Waterloo has declared all residential units in Waterloo’s Icon student apartments are now safe to occupy.

This announcement follows weeks of waiting for some students, who had been told their units would be ready by Sept. 1.

Some students were able to move in on time, but there were reports of missing furniture, unfinished work, and even flooding.

The move-in mess led Waterloo's Mayor Dave Jaworsky to say he was disappointed with the developer over what he saw as a lack of communication to tenants about the delays.
