Vehicles parked at various parks and trails in Kitchener and Cambridge were targeted for break-ins, police say.

A 40-year-old London man was arrested last week in connection with the thefts, which allegedly occurred on April 5, April 13, April 26 and May 3.

The man faces a total of 47 charges, including theft, mischief, disqualified driving and using a stolen credit card.

He’s accused of stealing purses and wallets from vehicles parked at McLennan Park, Steckle Woods Park, the Walter Bean Trail, the Paris Rail Trail and Churchill Park.

In all cases, police say, the stolen items had been left in plain sight inside the vehicles.
