It’s a dangerous time to be a Tim Hortons in Kitchener.

Damage is estimated at $40,000 after a car crashed into the Tim Hortons restaurant at Weber and Kinzie streets around 9 a.m. Friday.

Waterloo Regional Police say the elderly woman driving the sedan accidentally accelerated while attempting to park.

Her passenger, an elderly man, was taken to hospital with a head wound and back pain.

No charges are expected to be laid.

It was the second time in three days a Tim Hortons store in the city was damaged by a vehicle, following a crash at the University Avenue and Fischer-Hallman Road location on Wednesday evening.

In that case, damage is estimated at $100,000 and police said driver error may have been a factor.
