A police officer was hit from behind with a metal bar while executing a search warrant at a basement apartment, Brantford Police say.
Police executed the search warrant Friday morning, at a property on West Street.
They say they found four people in the basement. including a 15-year-old boy who was placed under arrest.
As the boy was being arrested, a 17-year-old girl allegedly grabbed the bar and swung it at one of the officers, aiming for the back of the officer’s head.
She too was placed under arrest, on charges of assault, assault with a weapon, obstructing police and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Also in the basement at the time were a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, both of whom allegedly gave false names for police – only for one of them to be foiled when his friend called him by a different name.
