Three women were inappropriately touched in two separate incidents early Friday morning, Waterloo Regional Police say.

The first incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., on Hazel Street.

In that case, police say, a man approached a 21-year-old woman from behind and grabbed her in an inappropriate manner, before leaving the area.

About half an hour later, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman walking together on Lester Street reported similar touching.

In that case, police say, a physical altercation ensued – after which the man ran down Lester toward University.

No physical injuries were reported.

The incidents are under investigation by police and the Wilfrid Laurier University Special Constable Service as sexual assaults.
