Fire broke out at a home in Caledonia early Tuesday morning, marking the third significant fire in the area in less than a week.

According to Haldimand County OPP, the Surrey Street home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene shortly before 1 a.m.

The Office of the Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the fire.

Police are also investigating, as they are with two earlier fires which have both been deemed suspicious.

Sunday night, a business on Highway 6 in Caledonia was hit by fire.

In that case, police say, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before they moved past the front entrance area of the business.

Another suspicious fire occurred Friday night at a residence on Concession Road 13 near Townsend, southwest of Caledonia.

OPP estimate damage in that fire at $300,000, and continue to look into exactly what caused it.

No injuries have been reported in any of the fires.
