SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ont. - As many as 25,000 chickens are dead following a barn fire this weekend just east of Cornwall.

Firefighters were called to a building fully engulfed in flames in South Glengarry Township just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Fire Chief Harold Harvey says it's believed something went wrong with the heating or electrical system inside the barn.

Damage is estimated to be at least $200,000.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office has been notified.
