Two young boys face charges after rocks were allegedly thrown at at least one vehicle in Guelph.

Guelph Police say they received a call about the incident Friday night, from a driver who had been hit while driving along Imperial Road South, near Wellington Street.

“A vehicle had had its window cracked by a rock that had been thrown from the overpass bridge,” Const. Mike Gatto told CTV News.

According to police, the driver actually investigated the rock’s origin on his own before calling 911.

“(He) actually walked up the hill to where this overpass was and actually found the youth that was responsible,” Gatto said.

After police arrived, a 12-year-old boy was taken into custody for mischief and breaching a recognizance order.

“We’re sending him to court, and we’re going to let the courts decide the punishment for him,” Gatto said.

A 13-year-old boy also faces a charge of breaching an undertaking.

Police say they’re not aware of any other vehicles being damaged by thrown rocks.
